Thanksgiving!!!!!

Wow it is almost here! Next week we cook and cook and cook only to eat and eat and as always have far too much left over!
Ok so maybe this year Thanksgiving used a little shock and awe and popped up on you! If so here are a few meal ideas to simplify your Thanksgiving!
If this is you then try these ideas out for size!

Menu 1Roast Turkey, Creamy Wild Rice Stuffing,Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Italian Green Beans*,Cranberry Tangerine Cheesecake

Creamy Wild Rice Stuffing

Creamy Wild Rice Soup Mix 5 cups hot water 2 tsp. Garlic Garlic™ 2-3 Tbsp. Onion Onion™ 6-8 slices diced bacon 4 stalks diced celery 14 oz. bag seasoned bread cubes

½ cup dried cranberries Salt and pepper to taste

Combine first 4 ingedients; simmer 60 minutes. Sauté bacon in lar ge skillet until browned; add celery. Cook until celery is tender. Toss bread cubes in lar ge bowl with bacon mixture and cranberries. Add prepared soup, season to taste with salt and pepper; mix well. Place dressing in greased 9 x 13 baking dish; cover with foil. Bake at 350º for 30 minutes. Remove foil, bake an additional 10-15 minutes. Serve hot. Makes 10-12 servings.

Italian Green Beans

1 Tbsp. Dried Tomato & Garlic Pesto Mix 2 tsp. olive oil 1 Tbsp. water 15 oz. can diced undrained tomatoes 1 lb. trimmed fresh green beans

Casual Thanksgiving

Slow-Cooked Turkey Breast*, Steamed carrots drizzled with Bayou Bourbon Glaze ™,Per fectly Potatoes Au Gratin* Bountiful Beer Bread™, Creamy Dreamy Chocolate Mousse*Recipe follows


Slow-Cooked Turkey Breast

5-6 lb. bone-in turkey breast, 1-2 tsp. Seasoned Salt 2 Tbsp. Onion Onion™ Ground black pepper to taste

Place turkey breast in a greased slow cooker; sprinkle with seasonings (don’t add liquid). Cover; cook on low 6-8 hours. Makes 5-6 servings.

Perfectly Potatoes Au Gratin

1 pkt. Perfectly Potato Cheddar Soup Mix 4 cups water 28 oz. bag frozen potatoes O’Brien with onions and peppers 2 Tbsp. Onion Onion™ 8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese, divided

Combine first 2 ingedients in a lar ge saucepan; simmer 15 minutes. Place frozen potatoes in a large bowl; add prepared soup and Onion Onion. Stir to combine. Fold in 1 cup Cheddar cheese. Spread potatoes in greased 9 x 13 baking dish; sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 350° for 35-45 minutes or until browned and bubbling. Let stand 5 minutes. Makes 10-12 servings.


Prepare Dried Tomato & Garlic Pesto Mix as directed on jar with olive oil and water. Steam green beans 4-5 minutes until crisp-tender; set aside. Mix tomatoes and juice with Dried Tomato & Garlic Pesto Mix. Heat on low until simmering. Add green beans. Makes 4-5 servings.

Pesto Turkey and Pasta

Ingredients
1/2 cup prepared Dried Tomato & Garlic Pesto Mix
3 cups prepared bowtie pasta
2 cups cooked, cubed turkey breast
1/2 cup coarsely chopped red bell pepper
Sliced black olives (optional)


Directions
Combine first 4 ingredients in saucepan. Heat over low heat; stir constantly, until hot. Garnish with olives. Makes 2-3 servings.

Roasted Red Pepper Wraps

Ingredients
4 Tbsp. Red Bell Pepper Sauce
4 whole grain tortillas
8 slices oven roasted turkey breast or other deli meat
1 diced medium tomato
1 cup chopped lettuce
4 slices cheese of choice


Directions
Warm Red Bell Pepper Sauce in microwave; spread on each tortilla. Layer with remaining ingredients; roll. Makes 4 servings.

Turkey Joes

Ingredients
6 lbs. bone-in turkeybreast
8 oz. cubed Velveeta®cheese
1 cup (2 sticks) cubed butter
Garlic Garlic™to taste
Seasoned Saltto taste
Hamburger buns


Directions
Roast turkey breast as directed on package. Cool completely; remove bones and skin (reserve any meat juices). Shred meat with a fork or by hand. Put turkey in a slow cooker; set heat to low. Add cheese, butter and any reserved meat juices. Add Garlic Garlic™ and Seasoned Salt; stir occasionally until butter and cheese melt. Simmer in slow cooker until ready to serve. Serve on sandwich buns. Makes 6-8 servings.

Asian Aura Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients
1/2 cup Asian Aura Dressing™
1 lb. ground turkey breast
2 Tbsp. slivered almonds
2 Tbsp. sliced green onions
1/2 cup shredded carrots
Whole Romaine lettuce leaves


Directions
Combine first 2 ingredients in a large skillet; saute until turkey is no longer pink. Chill turkey mixture. Add next 3 ingredients to turkey; divide evenly on 5-6 lettuce leaves. Wrap lettuce leaf around filling; serve with additional Asian Aura Dressing™ for dipping. Makes 4-6 servings.
